Beautiful steamer in action. Extensive note on back says ""Southern Railways, Fregih, 1st #54 N-Bound, Engine 4869 2-8-2 near Mableton, GA - Crossing Nicajack Creek, 43 loads, 2 Mtys - 2163 tons, Engineer Caldwell, Fireman Dukes, Brakeman Sorrells, 12:17pm 5/26/46, 2nd Sect. was a diesel train." Unfortunately, the only piece of info missing is the name of the photographer that caught and described this shot! Built by Alco-Richmond in 1926 (serial #66071, class Ms-4)

Description:
According to the info on the back of the photo, this 1914 Alco-Richmond built Mikado had 63" drivers, developed 200 psi boiler pressure for its 27" x 30" cylinders, had an engine weight of 272,900 lb, and generated a tractive effort of 53,900 lb. Date is approximate and photographer is unknown.
