Title:
"A Shipper Talks To Railroaders," Page 26, 1955
Description:
Here is page one of a two-page article by John L. DeLaney entitled "A Shipper Talks To Railroaders." It was published originally in the May 1955 issue of "Pennsy" magazine, page 26. Large Photo Caption: "Cars of expensive crash trucks, used on airfields, carefully braced, are switched at Elmira by the Pennsylvania." Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1196, an H-9S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built in Juniata as an H-8SB during May of 1912, rebuilt as an H-9S in May of 1925, and retired in September of 1959 after 47 years of faithful service.
