Here is the first of three original photos by Douglas C. Jones that were taken at the Pennsylvania Railroad's East Altoona Roundhouse in the Juniata section of Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1953. Prominent here is an unidentified Class M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" steam locomotive parked at the 17th Street Bridge, waiting to enter the Roundhouse. Partly visible at the right is engine #6159, a J-1 (2-10-4) "Texas" built in Juniata during January of 1944 and retired in February of 1960 after just 16 years of service.
