Description:  Westbound CP freight approaching Lytton B.C. behind four units, SD40-2’s 5693, 5704 and 5747 along with GP38 #3007, all running “elephant style” on July 9, 1978 on the CP Thompson Subdivision through Skihist Provincial Park. This is a hard scene to duplicate now as the CN and CP have initiated directional running where all westbound trains, be they CN or CP, run on CN Ashcroft Subdivision across the Thompson River (see photo) so this location on the CP Thompson Subdivision currently only sees eastbounds.

Description:  When I first saw this unit at Saint Paul a few days ago, I though it was stored based off of the plating over the air intakes. It would now appear that it has air intakes on the longhood. Anyone have any idea why CP does this?
