Description:  Winter Night. Here is an original time-exposure telephoto view that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, during February of 1966. Shown here is PRR engine #6515, a GF-25A built by General Electric in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. It is parked in the Altoona Yards, awaiting a crew and orders to pull its mixed-cargo freight train up the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve to Gallitzin and points West. Photo taken from the 4th Street Bridge.

Description:  AHC. Here is an original 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, in April of 1968. Shown here (R to L) is Penn Central engine #6519 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. #6519 is a U25C built by General Electric for the Pennsylvania Railroad in December of 1965. They're serving as tail-end pushers on a freight train that's rounding the Curve on its way up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin, where they'll be uncoupled and returned to East Altoona for yet another helper or pusher run up "The "Mountain."
