Title:  DMIR 2-8-8-4 #235- Duluth Missabe & Iron Range
Description:  Beautiful long shot of Duluth Missabe & Iron Range 2-8-8-4 #235, a Yellowstone type wheel configuration. The loco was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in February of 1943 (serial #64714, M4 class) and hauled the long drags of ore cars for nearly 19 years before being scrapped in 1962. Specs - 63" drivers, impressive 240 psi boiler pressure, 26x32" cylinders, engine weight of 699,700 lb, impressive tractive effort of 140,000 lb. Description:  Here's another photo of the massive Duluth, Missabee & Iron Range 2-6-6-4 #236. This articulated Yellowstone type steam locomotive was built by Baldwin in 1941 to meet the needs of power for long ore car drags. Specs - Class M3, 63" drivers, impressive 240 psi boiler pressure, 26x32 cylinders, engine wt 695,040 lb, impressive tractive effort of 140,000 lb. All of the DM&IR Yellowstones were all retired between 1958 and 1963. No photographer was listed for this photo.
