Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 2-6-0 Class H-2 1045 presumed at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, sometime in 1898, photograph by Pittsburgh Locomotive Works, Chuck Zeiler collection. Built as a compound locomotive in 1898 by the Pittsburgh Locomotive Works (c/n 1828) it was rebuilt to simple, renumbered to 1164 in 1904 and retired in May 1929. The rod extension over the foward wheel was a design to add bearing surface to the piston. |
