The M&StL's westernmost line ran from Watertown to Leola SD. They built this nice looking brick depot at Aberdeen to serve the largest city on the route but were never really ever to compete with the Milwaukee Road as far as passenger traffic to Minneapolis. Their daily train to Minneapolis was reduced by 1945 to a mixed which itself was off the schedule by 1950. CNW pulled up the former Louie rails in 1969. |
