Rainy. Here is an original telephoto view that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad locomotives in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 12 October 1965. Shown here are two sets of helper/pusher units returning to East Altoona for more runs up the Allegheny Mountains and bacj. On the right are PRR engines #6304 and #6303. Both are AF-27's built by the American Locomotive Company in 1965 and rated at 2,700 horsepower each. Beyond the 24th Street Bridge are PRR engines #6500 and #6306. #6500 is a GF-25A built by General Electric in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #6306 is an AF-27 built by the American Locomotive Company in 1965 and rated at 2,700 horsepower. |
