WIL-ALT-65. Here is an original photo that I took during a trip on Pennsylvania Railroad passenger trains from Wilmington to Altoona on 28 March 1965. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #4887 and #4913. Both are GG-1's built in Juniata; #4887 waq built during April of 1939, but #4913 was built during January of 1942. They are preparing to leave the North Philadelphia Station with a 14-car train from New York Cmty heading to Washington. The time is 12:27 P.M. #4913 is now on exhibit at the Railroaders Memorial Museum in Altoona, Pennsylvania. |
