WIL-ALT-65. Here is an original photo that I took while riding in a Pennsylvania Railroad passenger train from North Philadelphia to Harrisburg during August of 1965. Shown here is a Strasburg Rail Road Company (SRC) train in the process of switching the engines from one end of an eight-car excursion train to the other. Visible (L to R) are PRR engine #1223 and SRC engine #31. #1223 is a D-16SB (4-4-0) "American" built in Juniata during November of 1905. #31 is an 0-6-0 built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during August of 1908. |
