Here is a postal card entitled "Broadway Limited ~ Pennsylvania Railroad System." No Postmark. Caption On Reverse: "The Broadway Limited is America's foremost train. It makes the daily run over the Pennsylvania Railroad System between New York and Chicago in 20 hours; Philadelphia and Chicago in 18-1/4 hours." Depicted here pulling an eight-car consist is PRR engine #646, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during March of 1918 and retired in November of 1957 after 39 years of faithful service. The artist's name and the date are not recorded. |
