For a long time, CP resisted sending its fleet of GEs to the D&H, preferring instead to run out what miles the various SD 40 types still had in them. This 39T was a sight, having five of the newer units leading across the Chenango River. The red brick building to the far right is the Derby Knitting Mills, which would be burn to the ground in a spectacular fire a few years after this shot was taken. |
