This photo at the foot of Canal Street provides a good comparison of a New Orleans Public Service 400-series car, which had been built by the Southern Car Co. in 1915, and an 800-series car, which was built by the Perley A. Thomas Car Works in 1922. Car 409, on the left, was retired and scrapped in 1948, while car 842 was scrapped in June 1957. |
