Here is page 15 of a 78-page booklet published by Harry P. Albrecht entitled "Those Amazing Class 'D' Locomotives." It was issued originally in June of 1981. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1070, a D-6A (4-4-0) "American" built in the Altoona Machine Shops during August of 1883, later rebuilt and reclassified as a D-7, and retired in November of 1906 after 23 years of faithful service. |
