| Nashville & Eastern job NE01 takes the leg of the wye onto the beltline at Southern Jct. The Tennessee Central constructed this line to connect its Eastern and Western Divisions. The line ran around what was at the time the Nashville City Limit, crossing the L & N on a grade at Vine Hill Tower and the N.C.&St.L. on a bridge next to that road's West Nashville Shop complex. The portion west of Vine Hill was removed in 1970 and the right of way was used in the construction of Interstate 440. |
