Partial Caption: "It is sometime in 1892 and capped stack Class D-11a No. 601 with the Pennsylvania Limited is slowly gliding around the curve." Photo by William H. Rau. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #601, a D-11A (4-4-0) "American" built in the Altoona Machine Shops during July of 1886 and retired in July of 1907 after 21 years of faithful service. |
