The top course of abutment stone is being removed and stored so that the wingwalls can have a level added to them. The gap here will be the location for a concrete pour that will function as a new bearing area for the girders. The concrete will be formed using a special casting liner designed for this job that creates the look of the old stones. The grey concrete, once cured, will be stained and sealed to match the stone around it. |
