Nice action shot of New York Central 1654 heading up a long string of freight cars at an unidentified location. Built by EMD in July of 1949, this unit proudly wears the "cigar band" logo across its face. The unit continued into the PC era with the same number. The slide is from the Wm P. Nixon collection.
